2008 MINI Clubman Compact Wagon
A more useful Mini is a great idea, too bad it's going to take so long to get it on the road.
What We Know: We've seen enough prototypes of the Mini Traveller in the last year to know that it was coming, but officials at the Detroit auto show finally confirmed its existence. That's the good news. The bad news is the time frame, still a couple years out at the earliest. Expect this extended-length Mini to have a design similar to the various concepts shown in Frankfurt, Tokyo and Detroit. It will look the same as the Cooper up front, but the rear will be stretched out to create more passenger and cargo room in back. And instead of a flip-up hatch it's likely to have a set of split barn doors that open up to each side.
